February 26, 20242 yr Popular Post BANGKOK (NNT) - Patty Tavatanakit claimed a memorable victory at the Honda LPGA Thailand on Sunday (Feb 25), delighting fans at the Siam Country Club Old Course in Pattaya. The 24-year-old from Bangkok triumphed with a remarkable final round of 67, finishing 21 under par for a narrow one-stroke win. This marked Patty’s second LPGA victory, adding to her 2021 ANA Inspiration win, and follows her recent success at the Ladies European Tour in Saudi Arabia. She is now the second Thai player to clinch this tournament, echoing Ariya Jutanugarn's 2021 success. Having earned a prize of 255,000 US dollars, her victory was celebrated in front of a home crowd, including her parents, with Patty acknowledging the 15th hole as a critical moment buoyed by fan support. She attributes part of her success to a rigorous fitness regime implemented last season. Albane Valenzuela, from Switzerland, was a close competitor, finishing just one stroke behind Patty. Sei Young Kim from South Korea and Hye-jin Choi finished tied for third. Thailand’s Natthakritta Vongtaveelap and Jaravee Boonchant also performed well, finishing in the top ten, while former champion Ariya Jutanugarn ended up tied for 13th place.
