Popular Post BritScot
Escape from hospital! I never new thai hospitals were prisons. Thank god we in the UK ended the Toll booth/prison for debt. Debt should be a civil mater and not criminal. 1

sikishrory
Seems like people are quite comfortable with hospitals detaining people and holding them prisoner. Pretty sure I have seen a few stories over the years saying they don't do that here and its illegal. The way they do it is quite sly as well. I don't think most people are told going in that they could possibly be held prisoner over a small bill.
LivinginKata
Can't blame the hospitals for asking bills being paid before releasing from hospital. Too many foreigners take off without paying. From my experience I see no restraint from walking out. Even when our Insurance is paying they still hold you until the payment is confirmed and with our insurers that can take 4 hours. Drives me crazy but they let me go off to the shops while waiting.
