Taxi Suvarnabhumi to Silom rates

Featured Replies

How much is the Taxi fare from airport to Silom?

Last time the designated driver downstairs asked for 700, I told him I had only 600 including toll road, he accepted. The trip before that I paid 500,- in early nov.

Not a big deal, just wondering, and Im ok with the taxis downstairs, so not going to run upstairs or book anyone else.

Again, arrived at Suvarnabhumi, took my ticket downstairs for taxi, walked over to the number in my ticket, and asked how much to Silom where he replied800 baht sir.

We agreed on 700 included highway, do not need tell my wife paid 500 for her taxi, since we had different flight this time.

I even had to tell him stay off the phone while driving, which he did for 5 min.

Smart enough to cover up his meeter.

Two weeks ago on a Saturday morning from airport to BNH Hospital Silom. It was about ฿400 on the meter and I gave him money for the motorway tolls (฿70 total IIRC).

It is a taxi meter. Why did you ask the price? Just get in and tell them where to go. If they ask for a flat fee, tell them you will report them. They soon change their attitude as you have all of their details on the booking slip.

They have that meter for a reason, let them use it and you bay a lot less.

Well I'm not confrontational by nature, so I do not give a F, Since I was tired after a long travel without sleep, and just wanted to arrive at the hotel as quick as possible.

Anyway, next time limo, even I can get a grab, just next line over the street against the parking, but same drivers, same deleted cars.

To his excuse, it was rushour, and it is a deleted low life being a taxi driver, and since I aknownledge that, I also kind of imagine myself in the same deleted situation.

If he just didn't go on the phone while driving, and drive like he bought the DL, I would had been happy.

The taxi's in the official taxi rank HAVE to use the meter. Asking for a price is just not smart and the haggling (which will cost you more than the meter) gets you later to your destination.

take the airport link to Phaya Tai, change to the Sukhumvit line and taxi from the Sukhumvit area. We do it although we are never in a hurry.

I prefer door to door with as little hassle as possible arriving early morning Thailand, which is in the middle of the night for me where Im coming from. Coming back again in 2 weeks, so we will see if I book a limo this time.
