snoop1130 Posted March 18 Share Posted March 18 Police arrested a one-eyed blind man for attempting to rape a 12 year old girl at an abandoned hut in Bang Bo district in the central province of Samut Prakarn province. Bangpleenoi Police Station officers rushed to meet the 12 year old victim and her parents in a rice field in the Bang Bo district of Samut Prakarn province near the incident scene yesterday, March 17. A local living in the area managed to save the girl from the sexual assault but the suspect managed to flee the scene on his motorcycle. The victim told the police that she, her siblings, and her 75 year old grandmother came to a pond in the rice field to fish. The suspect aged between 55 and 60 years old arrived at the rice field and claimed that the plot of land belonged to him. The man then offered to lend the group a fishing net on the condition that the girl went with him to a hut 3 kilometres away from the rice field. The victim revealed that her male siblings told her to go with the man but she did not want to go. On arrival at the hut, the man began to sexually assault her. He tried to rape her but the girl resisted by punching him in the face and eye and kicking him. She then ran away from the hut and was helped by a local man who lived in the area. The girl said the suspect was blind in one eye but could not remember which eye was blind. He was about 165 centimetres tall and had dark skin. He fled the scene on a motorbike after the local man intervened. Police arrested the suspect, identified as Wirat, later on the same day at his home in the Baan Pho district in the central province of Chachoengsao. He admitted to the crime and claimed it was not in his nature, adding that he did not know what prompted him to sexually assault the girl. Children welfare specialists and police would question the victim in more detail before pressing charges against Wirat. Or some other charge that reflect their part in this attempted rape.
