webfact
BUENG KAN, (TNA) – Yesterday, several provinces in the northern region experienced a summer storm accompanied by hail, causing both alarm and excitement due to the unusually large size of the hailstones. A summer storm with strong gusts of wind and hail occurred, wreaking havoc in three sub-districts of Bueng Kan Province. Video clips shared by locals on social media during the hail storm showed that the hailstones were large, some as big as a child’s fist or a tennis ball. Many people, posting on Facebook, mentioned that in the past 40-50 years, they had never witnessed such large hailstones before. After the hail storm subsided, people began collecting the hailstones in containers and taking pictures to share on social media, marking a rare occurrence of a hail storm in the area. After the incident, officials visited the affected areas with officials to assess the damage. A total of 1,376 houses in 18 villages had been damaged. There have been no reports yet of injuries or fatalities among the residents, but agricultural crops will undergo further assessment. KhunBENQ
Not as bad here but a thunderstorm and heavy downpour. As a bonus we had a blackout for about an hour. Hail and sharp drop of temperature is not unusual at this time of year. When I first experienced it was quite a surprise though.
