April 26, 20242 yr Popular Post Voice TV, famously known for its pro-Thaksin stance, announced a surprising closure after being operational for 15 years. Its unexpected shutdown is set to impact approximately 100 staff members and journalists. The sudden news has left many questioning the cause, as no immediate explanation was given. Launched in 2008, Voice TV started as a specialized satellite channel and extended its services to digital terrestrial platforms in 2014. In 2019, after undergoing financial struggles, it abandoned its digital TV platform, returning to its roots as a satellite channel, and streaming content online via YouTube and Facebook. Voice TV is renowned for supporting the Shinawatra family, leading to stirring debates. The channel's former anchors, including high-profile names such as Pannika Wanich and Piyabutr Saengkanokkul, switched their careers from journalism to politics. In other developments, the Supreme Administrative Court dismissed the hefty 2.8 billion baht lawsuit against the iTV Public Company, filed by the Prime Minister’s Office secretariat. The lawsuit was related to a joint agreement with Shin Corp to set up a TV station employing UHF spectrum, a point of contention since 2007. General Sittichai Makkunchorn, spokesperson for the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission, however, called for responsible broadcasting following a public uproar on the media's exposure of violent content. The call comes after a Thailand domestic violence case where a man killed his wife was widely covered, sparking conversations around ethics in broadcasting such material. April 26, 20242 yr Popular Post Now Thaksin and PT have joined the conservative parties, there's no place for anti establishment viewpoints on their station, so time to close it down. Not with a bang, but with a whimper.
April 27, 20242 yr Popular Post Does this mean what I think it means, that Thaksin is infinitely less relevant than he used to be? I know virtually everybody that I speak with in Issan where my woman is from, no longer thinks about him, no longer supports him, and considers him and his entire party to be traitors and morally bankrupt. They sold out to the despised army.

The question you're asking is essentially the same thing, both Pheu Thai and the army are completely bankrupt from a moral point of view, and they essentially sold out to each other, and sacrificed any essence of integrity that may have remained. Selling you soul for some power.

Selling you soul for some power. I agree with you The problem is, I suppose it depends on who mostly wants the power and who is actually running the game. Whether the army is using the PTP to run the country, or the PTP is using the army. The army has the guns but less of the judiciary, and PTP possibly has the Thai people (and perhaps the RTP). I think it is up to he who cannot be named to make his mind up. he has a fairly large part of the army under his direct control, but not all of it.
