snoop1130
A 54-year-old Laotian man, Inthak Peun, alerted police in Bangkok of his nine-month-old grandson, Martin's, kidnapping yesterday. The abductor, a workmate of Inthak's from Cambodia named Noi Saengwan, had fled with the child to the east province of Rayong. Inthak told officers at Bang Na Police Station he suspected Noi was a member of the LGBTQA+ community since he often dressed in women's clothing. Noi had recently begun working with Inthak and frequently visited and played with Martin, so when Noi left with Martin to go to a nearby store on May 7, there was no cause for alarm until he didn't come back. Inthak isn't Martin's biological grandfather; he and his wife adopted the baby after his parents left him behind at their construction site. Amid their concern for their grandson's safe return, the couple expressed their fear of Noi possibly involving the child in organ trafficking. Reports of Noi and Martin's journey from Bangkok to Rayong circulated on Thai social media, with a key tip-off about their presence on a coach bus leading to their location. Police apprehended Noi at the Rayong Bus Terminal at approximately 11 pm, and he and Martin were returned to Bang Na Police Station. Noi told local media that he had taken Martin out of love and wanted to keep him. He didn't reveal why he had brought the baby to Rayong but mentioned he was en route to Chantaburi for work. When asked about his nationality, Noi claimed to be Thai and not Cambodian as Inthak had asserted; however, he couldn't recite the Thai national anthem to confirmation, and no record of him could be found in the civil registration database. Noi also disclosed that he had previously been in prison on drug charges. Authorities are now investigating Noi's identity and nationality and have charged him with two offenses under the country's criminal law. If found guilty, Noi could face up to three years in jail and a fine of up to 60,000 baht for restraining or confining another person, and between three and 15 years in prison and fines of between 6,000 and 30,000 baht for taking away a person aged under 15 years from their guardian. What a start to a life. I sincerely hope his future is much better. 1
