Does the 800K bank letterhave to be on the same date as application for the Visa extension?

Featured Replies

Can I get the letter from the bank on one day, and the next day go to CW immigration super early, and get my passbook updated at the ATM there?

I’ve had a Non O for five years using the Embassy affidavit for income verification, but for next renewal I’m planning on using the 800k deposit method instead.

Cheers,

The "bank letter" can be up to 7 days early.

Don't follow why you need to apply for it day prior.

At CW the banks know what you require.

You can make a deposit of say 100b to show activity and the bank prepares letter after the deposit is made.

You would also need to provide photocopies of bank book pages to show monthly deposits for previous 12 months (income method) and previous 2 months showing balance of 800k

In CM with a fixed deposit account there is no need to make a deposit!

Just an updated pass book and the letter, although this year they also insisted on statements for some reason but no deposit! (April 24)

Which immigration office

Nakhon Phanom. First thing in the morning is to go to bank. And only after that to immigration.

Varies by immigration office.

I understand that hence the reference to CM IO!

Let's not go through the 75 immigration offices.

Many threads on this.

Most offices will accept "bank letter" prior to day of application.

The OP mentions CW and that office will certainly accept letter obtained earlier.

Cheers,

If your bank has a branch at CW you can do it all there on the day.  And no need to go "super early", just make an appointment.

Indeed.

We all have our own MO.

I make appointment for first slot after lunch CW.

Do banking and any photocopying prior to that on lower level.

Personally I do it all on day of application however have done it days prior in my initial years at CW.

Thanks Dr Jack

I like to go super early with all my docs ready so I can be sure to get the IO extemsion and the exit permits all done the same day.

I'll get the Bank letter a day or two prior, and after I've got my queue number, go to the ATM to get he passbook updated.

Your plan is very sensible.

You mention"exit permits"

If you mean reentry permit be aware you can obtain that at airport on day of departure.

CW can be super busy.

I didn't know that useful info.

I've also learned from you that now I can make an appointment CW.

That must be new. Very cool.

I am aware of the 7 day rule.....but asking at my immigration office they tell me it has to be the same day. I always do it the same day.

Be aware that at BKK and DMK they offer a "service fee" 200b and the provide the TM8 form and photo and fill in form.

Note it's optional.

Wow, so that's 24/7, right at the Immigration check out counter?

200 thb is a bargain for the convinience. 🙂

Mine too.

Prachinburi.

And there must be a transaction shown in the bank book on that same day as well.

The reentry permit desk at BKK is after security and just prior to passport left side Zone 2.

At DMK the office is just other side of passport control.

Does anybody know how this bank letter is called in Thai?
