Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin expressed sorrow over the death of a 28-year-old political activist Netiporn and pledged to ensure transparency and justice. He instructed the Ministry of Justice to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.

 

This incident has drawn attention to two other political activists who are currently on a hunger strike, campaigning for bail rights and the release of political detainees. Activist Tanta-wan was taken to Thammasat University Hospital to be treated for stress and depression after she learned about the passing of her close friend, 


The Constitutional Court has agreed to extend the deadline by another 15 days, until the 2nd of June,  for the Move Forward Party to submit documents to defend itself against the party’s dissolution.

 

On January 31st, the Constitutional Court ruled that Move Forward’s push for changes to the lese-majeste law indicated an intention to undermine the constitutional monarchy. The EC said the court’s ruling presented grounds for the party’s dissolution.


The government has approved a special 10-year visa for executives and experts working in the Eastern Economic Corridor to bolster the development of targeted industries in the country.

 

Additionally, specialists residing and working in the EEC will benefit from a preferential personal income tax rate of 17%.
