Sakulthorn Juangroongruangkit, who is the CEO of Real Estate Development Company Ltd. and younger brother to Thanathorn, the leader of the Progressive Movement, was found guilty of bribery. The charges against Sakulthorn include a 20-million-baht bribe he paid to an official from the Crown Property Bureau and another man. The bribe's purpose was to get permission for his firm to rent a 1.02-hectare piece of land in Bangkok's Chidlom area without requiring an open bid process.
