Hello, I'm planning to fly to Krabi for a short trip.

I'm wondering which month is best for traveling to the islands around Krabi.

Can you suggest a month with no rain, clear seas, and fewer tourists? That would be very nice!

June to October Krabi experiences heavy rainfall.

November should be OK

 no rain - Jan-Mar

clear seas - Jan - Mar

fewer tourists - May-Sep

I lived in Ao Nang from 1994 to 1996.  1994 was cool and authentic. I was tired of it by 1995. The villagers got together and decide to make Ao Nang a cookie-cutter copy of everywhere else in Thailand and thus destroying a unique feel that it had before. All of the huts on the beach were torn down and tacky concrete was the chosen path.  I haven't been back since.

December and January to mid february is my experience, but December and beginning of January can still give you heavy showers and quite strong winds. One year we where stuck on Koh Lanta for Koh Lipe a few days, and the same on the way back. Speed boats went down and a few was missing for weeks.
