You need 2 million registered capital, but you DO NOT NEED that much cash! (amount of registration can be different from the cash amount). No need to waste.

Yes, you'll be opening a limited company (co. ltd.).

You won't need to hire 4 thai workers for the company to get a work permit.

My advice to you is this... if you set up the company, the worst thing you can do is have it done by a very stupid lawyer.

I might try forum sponsor Sunbelt Asia for their legal services. Call them 02-642-0213. It will cost about 80,000 thb including the work permit, but does not include traveling fees if you need to get a business visa outside of Thailand. (You cannot get a Thailand business visa while inside Thailand. You have to go to a Thai embassy/consulate in another country to get it.)

It's easy if you are married, and it's also easy if you are not married.

I can't help you if you don't help yourself.

Like I said, talk to a GOOD lawyer who has experience in getting MANY work permits for MANY farangs already. (I think Sunbelt already did more than 5,000 work permits for more than 5,000 farangs).

Many Thai lawyers (like mine before) are completely stupid and YOU WILL WASTE ALL YOUR MONEY and in the end, YOU STILL WILL NOT HAVE YOUR WORK PERMIT and you will get kicked out of Thailand as I almost was.
