On June 6, 2024, Thailand's Public Health Minister, Somsak Thepsuthin, spoke about the potential reclassification of cannabis as a type 5 narcotic. According to Thai news sources, an anti-cannabis group known as the "Youth Network Against Cannabis (YNAC)" has forwarded a petition signed by over 100,000 people, proposing to make cannabis use illegal, except for medical and health reasons.

British teen's lost luggage quickly recovered by Kanchanaburi police

A British teenager called Southgate, who had accidentally left his shoulder bag on the roof of a taxi while on vacation in Kanchanaburi, Thailand, was able to recover it, thanks to swift action by the local tourist police. The 19-year-old had traveled from Bangkok and upon arriving at his guesthouse, forgot his bag, which contained his passport and some cash.
