Thai Airways (THAI) has renewed and expanded its distribution agreement with technology giant Amadeus. This strategic partnership aims to deliver a seamless and personalised travel experience, both online and on mobile platforms.

THAI will enhance its website and mobile booking channels, ensuring a smoother and more intuitive journey for passengers. Nuthaphol Amawatana, THAI’s head of pricing and revenue management, stated that this is a major technology investment and upgrade for Thai Airways, providing the foundation for the airline’s business transformation.

“We’ll now be able to offer travellers a more modern and seamless booking experience, whether they are visiting our website or using our mobile app. We are also pleased to continue our content agreements with Amadeus and look forward to exploring new opportunities. THAI is confident in its choice of Amadeus as a technology partner for the decades to come.”

The revamped platforms will feature the Amadeus Reference Experience, providing a responsive and configurable user interface. Travellers can switch devices throughout their journey, manage flight bookings, check-in, and handle disruptions independently.

To streamline international travel, THAI has implemented Amadeus Travel Ready. This feature allows passengers to verify their travel documents online, significantly reducing manual checks at the airport and speeding up processes at check-in, bag drop, and boarding.

To optimise network revenue, the carrier will also employ Amadeus Network Revenue Management. Utilising machine learning and customer choice modelling, this technology will enable the airline to enhance pricing and availability decisions, boosting revenue through efficient route management.

Amadeus Executive Vice President, Travel Unit and Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Javier Laforgue, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “The agreement signed today is a milestone for us, and we look forward to working hand in hand with the carrier on its transformation journey. We are confident that our technology will support THAI’s growth ambitions and help achieve its business goals.”

Additionally, THAI will utilise the Xchange Payment Platform (XPP) from Outpayce, Amadeus’ payments business. This platform supports a variety of payment methods, improving global payment acceptance and enhancing the carrier’s fraud management and analytics capabilities.
