Drunken Tourist Allegedly Attacks German Man and Thai Wife in Pattaya
PHOTO: รักสยาม นิวส์ In the early hours of August 20th, 2024, a violent altercation erupted at the Gold Bar Beer in Soi 6 on Pattaya Beach Road, Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. The incident involved an intoxicated foreigner who allegedly assaulted a German man, Mr. Ral Peter Mallon, 60, and his Thai wife, Ms. Pornwin Ramakul, 27. Authorities rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the disturbance at approximately 12:10 AM. Upon arrival, they discovered Mr. Mallon suffering from a significant head injury and Ms. Ramakul with a loose tooth. Both individuals received first aid before being transported to Bangkok Pattaya Hospital for further treatment, reported The Pattaya News. Eyewitness Ms. Kanyarat Wansena, 28, recounted that the foreigner began harassing her and her friends while they were at the bar. The assailant accused them of causing distress to one of his friends, but Ms. Kanyarat denied the accusation and attempted to de-escalate the situation. Despite their efforts, the foreigner became increasingly aggressive. Mr. Mallon intervened in an effort to protect his wife and friends but was allegedly punched by the drunken man, causing him to fall and hit his head on the floor. The fall resulted in a serious head injury that required over nine stitches. Doctors have advised that he remain under observation due to potential brain trauma. The suspect also struck Ms. Ramakul, leading to her dental injury. The suspect, who gave his name as “Michael,” 44, refused to provide further identification details to the authorities. He made offensive gestures at the media and police, raising his middle finger while being photographed. Later, it was revealed that he attempted to settle the matter personally by offering compensation to the victims. However, the police have stated that further legal actions will be considered once the victims have recovered sufficiently. Has anyone faced issues with visa agents—what should I watch out for?
Well, in the case of my extension based on a work permit, the shear heft of the documents required, along with everything being in Thai, I was not about to even attempt such a task -- an agent is necessary. However, I did my first retirement extension on my own, as well as my marriage extension (with help from the wife). So, as you say, these do not require an agent, unless you just like having someone to hold your hand and do the talking for you.- 1

Be a man and learn to ignore people instead of choosing to be triggered. This is why people suffer from depression cause you can't let go and choose to be triggered by what people say. Comedy is illegal today cause of losers like you! Nothing worst than a loser than runs to the principal office to report people! -

By Barry Kenyon Thailand offers a multiplicity of long-term visas for women and men well past the first bloom of youth. They include annual extensions of stay, the 5-20 years Elite visa and the 10 years Long Term Residence (LTR), each of which has its own scale of charges with assorted pluses and minuses. None of them allows direct ownership of land by foreigners, nor guarantees a path to permanent residency or citizenship. Purchase of condominiums is allowed but does not generally result in visa concessions. Since January 2024, anyone spending six months or more in the kingdom may be liable to personal income tax on remitted income. Malaysia has had a 5-20 years My Second Home program since 2002 but there have been a succession of changes, including the requirement to purchase and retain a property and associated land (100 percent in their name) in order to spur growth in the local market. Perks include obtaining visas for spouses, parents and children under 34 years. Unlike Thailand, Malaysia imposes the requirement to live in the country for at least three months per year, although a dependant relative can substitute where the visa holder is still of working age. Malaysia is not currently insisting on foreign tax residents paying tax on remitted income from abroad. Cambodia seems to have abandoned an earlier second home campaign, but the Retirement ER visa gives one year which is annually renewable. Retirees aged at least 55 years do not need to provide written proof of status or finances. Property ownership laws are strict and similar to Thailand’s. In theory, Cambodia requires foreign residents to file and pay taxes on their foreign income, but there are few signs of enforcement for this kind of visa. Cambodia allows foreigners to purchase citizenship provided they invest or donate US$300,000, an offer taken up with alacrity by rich Chinese in particular.
