Thailand unveils new visa rules, sparks mixed reactions
In all fairness, in all countries I lived I never came across such a confusing, never ending changing of rules on visa regulations. Meanwhile even the immigration officers do no longer know what to do. Some stamp 15 days, others 60 days, some allow only two entries overland per year, another guy said "lazy to count" and meant that the two-trips-overland-per-year rule is no longer as well. All this at the Friendship bridge in Nong Khai, which I (PR holder) cross almost weekly. But then it is to be said, that it is an excellent entry experience for the inexperienced traveller; the way all this visa headaches and immigration rules are changed more often that other people change socks; that's the way the whole country seems to operate. Correct me if I'm wrong, but as I read it, the map indicates there's no change. Buakhao stays 2 way. 2nd Rd one way. Just the connecting sois are affected. -

Thai Police Commission Validates Decision to Dismiss Police General Surachate Hakpar
On August 6, 2024, Thawatchai Thaikhiew, a deputy spokesperson of the Police Civil Service Commission (PCSC), shared on Facebook that the dismissal of Police General Surachate Hakparn, also known as "Big Joke," was upheld. Hakparn was earlier suspended from his duties. The validity of Hakparn's dismissal, initially approved by Police General Kittirat Phanphet, was under the commission's review. The PCSC met to consider the highly publicized case and has informed both Hakparn, who appealed against the decision, and the National Police Office, to which the appeal was made. Hakparn appealed his dismissal on April 18, 2024, arguing the decision was illegal and demanded it be revoked. The case attracted significant public and media attention, with many debating the legalities and facts of the case. After a detailed investigation, which involved listening to both sides and examining the evidence, the PCSC concluded that Hakparn's dismissal was conducted lawfully and with valid reasoning. The commission affirmed the original decision to suspend Hakparn from his duties. The PCSC rejected Hakparn's appeal and his request for provisional actions. However, Hakparn maintains the right to take his case to the Supreme Administrative Court within the next 90 days if he disagrees with the decision, reported The Pattaya News. I totally get how annoying that must be. I had a similar issue a while back and found that getting a thorough check-up was key. My PSA levels were fine too, so it wasn’t that, but my doctor put me on some meds that really helped. I’d suggest talking to a urologist about alpha-blockers or other options—they really made a difference for me. As for finding a good doctor in Chiang Mai, you might want to ask around in local expat groups or forums. They usually have some solid recommendations for specialists. -
