Cooking In Your Condo?

Featured Replies

my wife is an amazing cook and i love thai food, but whenever she cooks in our 60m2 condo, it gets very uncomfortable and everything smells like ga-pow or pad-pet. we try to blow the fan in the direction of the window, but it doesnt do anything. does this bother you at all and do you have any tricks?

We have the door and french door (to the balcony) open all the time when we're in so get a free airflow, although it can get a little too free when a storm blows up, the only time everything gets closed.

Just opening one window won't help much, you need the get the air flowing through.

Never have any real issues with cooking smells, they're usually too delicious to complain about :o

One time I do get smell-itis is when She who must be obeyed is drying chillies in the frying pan to make those lethal chilli flakes, clears the sinuses (only done when I'm not home now).

i love my wife's thai cooking, and i think her food is way better then the street vendors, but it makes our 80m2 apartment smell and hot as can be. We try to put the fan towards the window, but it doesnt help very much. Anyother tricks? Does it bother you?

install a good extractor fan and ducting , or do what most thais do and do the frying on the balcony.
