I don't want to split hairs here but there is a huge difference between the Palestinians were given their own country and the Palestinians were offered their own country. However, the Arabs rejected as they considered the plan to be a Violation of Democratic Principles: The Arab population made up two-thirds of the inhabitants and owned the vast majority of the private land. They argued that a democratic process would have given the majority the right to determine the future of the entire territory. And an unfair Land Allocation: The plan awarded 55% of the land to the Jewish minority, many of whom were recent immigrants. Furthermore, the proposed Jewish state contained a massive Arab minority (around 45%), leading to fears of immediate political domination or displacement. Some historians argue that the rejection was a catastrophic strategic error for the Palestinian people as it was a Missed Opportunity for Statehood: Accepting the plan would have legally established an independent, internationally recognized Palestinian Arab state on 42% of the land, a goal that remains unfulfilled today. And a Avoidable Dispossession: Rejection led directly to the 1948 war, which resulted in the flight and expulsion of roughly 700,000 Palestinians (the Nakba) and the loss of the territory designated for their state The question is, was it real a missed opportunity and would the Palestinians now live in their own state happy and gay if they only did not reject der Partition Plan? I doubt it. Because these are the territorial claims presented by the Zionists at the Paris Peace Conference, a much bigger state than present Israel and all the stolen land plus the occupied areas together And this is the promised land according to Genesis 15:18-21 So, It is clear, that they had a way bigger territory in mind and today in hindsight when you look at all the wars they started and all the land they stole every time and what they are doing right now in Lebanon not to speak of Gaza in the West Bank. I think it wouldn't have made any difference if the Arabs would have accepted the partition plan. The Israelis would have found reasons and excuses to attack them and steal the land like they have been doing it for the last decades. The Palestinians were doomed the moment they welcomed the Jewish refugees into their territory.
