Thailand and China Aim to Boost Trade Ties

Thailand's Deputy Commerce Minister, Suchart Chomklin, led a team to the 3rd "Thai-China Sub-Committee" meeting in Bangkok. The aim was to strengthen trade connections between Thailand and China. China's Deputy Commerce Minister Li Fei co-chaired the discussions. The primary focus was to grow the market for Thai agricultural goods like livestock and fruits in China and improve transportation of these goods to China.

Thailand Aims to Increase Tourism with Paris Olympics Campaign

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is stepping up its strategies to attract more French tourists aligned with the Paris 2024 Olympics, which started on Friday. TAT has partnered with Carrefour Voyages since May to kick off promotional campaigns in 115 French travel agencies. The aim is to enhance tourism from Thailand using both online and offline methods, with a target of selling 2,000 travel packages by August.

Thang Rath App Sees Surge in Registrations After Announcement

The government-run "Thang Rath" app has seen its daily registrations skyrocket by ten times following the announcement of a new digital wallet system by the Ministry of Finance on July 24. Government Spokesperson, Chai Wacharonke, mentioned that daily downloads and registrations increased greatly to between 800,000 and 900,000 from the usual 50,000 to 60,000 after the information was made public last week.

Ministry of Transport to Upgrade Bangkok Port

The Ministry of Transport in Thailand has revealed plans to improve the Bangkok Port, situated in the Khlong Toei district of the city. This confirms that the port won't be moved, as was previously speculated. The upgrade plan will concentrate on vertical expansion, in order to make the best use of the land in its current location.
