Transgender Woman Robs Businessman at Bangkok Hotel, Tries to Sell Stolen Car

A businessman was victim to a theft carried out by a transgender woman he'd met at a hotel. The thief tried to sell the stolen car online but was thwarted by the police.

Earlier today, August 15, a 42-year-old businessman, Gorn, identified his black Suzuki Swift at the Nonthaburi City Police Station. The car had been stolen by a 28-year-old transgender woman, Pink, on August 13, according to CCTV footage. The car was found outside a convenience store in the Huai Khwang district of Bangkok.

The video footage records Pink leaving a hotel room and making a call outside at 8:14pm. By 8:30pm, Gorn's black Suzuki Swift is seen leaving the hotel premises. More CCTV footage shows the car leaving a local road in Nonthaburi.

After spending the day with Pink, Gorn woke up the next morning at 3am to realize his car, an iPhone 12 Pro Max, a Xiaomi phone, and a Tag Heuer watch were all missing. He was informed by the hotel staff that Pink had left with a man, which led Gorn to report the theft to the police.

Officer Tharathip Pengkham and his team reviewed the CCTV footage of Pink making a call in a white outfit outside the hotel at 8:19pm, roughly the same time the car was seen leaving.

The police discovered Pink had listed the stolen car on social media. They planned to arrest Pink by setting up a meeting at a convenience store in Bangkok, but upon arriving, they only found the car with the keys still in it. It's suspected that Pink got wind of the plan and abandoned the vehicle.

Gorn shared that he'd met Pink at the hotel around lunchtime. They had lunch and talked before spending the night together. When he woke up at 3am, Pink and his belongings were gone.

Based on their initial investigation, police are collaborating with the Nonthaburi City Police's investigative unit to issue a warrant for Pink's arrest. They believe Pink might not have pulled off this heist alone and are conducting inquiries to apprehend her and any potential accomplices.
