September 1, 20241 yr Popular Post This whistle-stop tour culminated with the rally in Savanna, and the successful CNN interview. Trump is trying to portray Kamala Harris as a San Francisco Marxist, but what he's overlooking is that because she attended Howard University, a historically black college, she has excellent rapport with African-American AND southern voters, and this was abundantly evident in watching footage of her whistle-stop campaign stops through southern Georgia. That rapport is what may be driving her rise in the polls in southern swing and purple states like North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Texas. At the very least, this footage shows how natural and comfortable she is in black social settings, and how ridiculous and insulting Trump's attempts were to suggest she has only recently leaned into her black heritage for political gain. September 1, 20241 yr Popular Post During the interaction with the High School band, both Walz and Harris came across as real people who genuinely care about everyone. I'm imagining JD Vance awkwardly asking each band member how long they've been playing that instrument. Or Trump buffoonishly claiming that he's the best musician ever. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuaxDaMTu9E

Won't do separate interviews.

Perhaps, but did she talk about her policies? Did she make promises that she can be held to? Talk is cheap, and Ken Dodd got on well with people, but no one would have voted him for POTUS ( had he been an American ).

September 1, 20241 yr Popular Post I expect that Trump's idea of a connection would be to visit a local trailer park with his QAnon talking points. 😁

September 2, 20241 yr Popular Post Trump's achievements since Biden's election as POTUS over just next two years: "TRUMP: Long list of firsts," Dec. 2022, https://cdapress.com/news/ (my picks) Trump was and will forever be First president: in 28 years to not serve a second term. in 89 years to lose the presidency, the House and the Senate in a single term. in 129 years to lose the popular vote twice. ever to fail to hit a 50% approval rating at any point during their presidency. ever to be impeached twice. ever to have a member of their own party vote for conviction in an impeachment trial. ever to actively incite a terrorist attack against his own (government). It only gets worse going beyond 2022 with criminal convictions, adjudicated rapist, federal and state indictments, smallest rally crowd sizes, etc.

September 2, 20241 yr Popular Post I lived in California during the time she was district attorney in San Francisco and attorney general in California, and I disagreed with a lot of her policies. I thought that a lot of her tough crime policies were grossly unfair, and I had a lot of issues with her. I also question how effective she was as vice president, though an argument could easily be made that very few vice presidents accomplish all that much. Having said all that, I will take anyone but Trump. So I'm happy to support her and I'm happy to vote for her, unless somebody else is selected, which looks very doubtful. I do have to give her credit, she has picked up the ball and run with it very quickly, and she has caught Trump completely off guard with his pants down around his ankles. It is really fun to watch him panicking.

Either talk is cheap - in which case promises don't amount to anything - or it isn't, in which case they do.

September 2, 20241 yr Popular Post You red hats are getting more and more desperate as each day passes. VP Harris could make a statement the "air exists," and you'd accuse her of making it Marxist air. I remember a time when we actually had cogent conversations on this forum. It's now devolved to a few trolls slinging sh!t at everyone. When Harris takes over and you've all had yourself a good cry, I hope we can get back to discussing actual policies.
