On the morning of September 2, an incident occurred in Lopburi province, where a 30-year-old Cambodian woman was found dead in her rented room, the victim of a fatal stabbing. The local police station in Phatthana Nikhom district received a report of the incident at 07:10 from the district’s radio communication centre.

The incident took place in a row of single-story rental units located behind the old B-Food market, between Soi 11 and 12, in Moo 5, Chong Sarika Subdistrict, Phatthana Nikhom District, Lopburi Province. Upon arrival at the scene, rescue volunteers and authorities discovered a gruesome sight. Bloodstains were found on the front door of Room 11, and multiple bloody footprints were visible near the entrance.

Inside the room, the body of the victim, identified as Ms. Mab Suen, was found lying face down beside a wardrobe. The floor was soaked with blood, which had also splattered across the walls. The room was in disarray, with bloodstains and strands of hair on the fan, as well as blood on a pink teddy bear with hair clumps stuck to it. A gold necklace was found near the back door, which was still locked, and a wallet was found on the bed.

Police and forensic investigators from Lopburi, along with a medical examiner from Phatthana Nikhom Hospital, conducted an initial examination of the crime scene. The victim had sustained multiple severe lacerations to her face, neck, back, and shoulders, indicating she had been attacked with a sharp object. The wounds were deep, measuring approximately 5 centimetre in length, and the evidence suggested she had been dead for at least eight hours, as the blood had started to dry.

The assailant had fled the scene, leaving behind only bloody footprints and a 20-baht banknote found outside the room. Authorities launched an investigation and conducted a search of the surrounding area. Approximately 30 minutes later, in a nearby wooded area separated by a fence, officers discovered the murder weapon, a bloodstained 11-inch cleaver with hair still attached, about 50 metres from the crime scene.

The body of the victim was transported to Phatthana Nikhom Hospital for further examination. For the precise determination of the cause of death, the body will be sent to Srinakharinwirot University Hospital in Nakhon Nayok for an autopsy.

The case is being handled by Pol. Lt. Col. Santapop Polruang, who is overseeing the ongoing investigation. The police are continuing to gather evidence, including DNA testing of the recovered weapon, to identify and apprehend the perpetrator.

Jesus.  Hacked to death over a period of probably several seconds or minutes.  Sound like she put up a fight as well.  Hopefully they find the killer.  Horrible way to go.
