Pattaya — An allegedly heavily intoxicated Thai driver in Pattaya caused a traffic jam after refusing to exit her car following a minor collision.

At 6:06 AM on September 12th, 2024, Pattaya police received a report from local residents about a traffic accident involving a collision on Pattaya Second Road in the Nongprue sub-district. Upon receiving the report, officers, along with The Pattaya News reporters, rushed to the scene.

There, residents and rescue workers were found surrounding a white Honda Civic driven by the female suspect. The driver, who was believed to be under the influence of alcohol, refused to exit the vehicle or negotiate with the other drivers, causing traffic congestion.

Police spent over 30 minutes persuading the driver to step out of her car. The driver eventually complied, claiming she was allegedly waiting for insurance representatives to arrive, who never did. A bottle of alcohol was reportedly found inside the vehicle and police kept it as evidence.

Yeah.  Because the safest thing you can do is step out and calmly talk to an angry mob.  I don't blame her for refusing to get out of the car until enough cops showed up to keep the crowd in check.

Why did the cops stand negotiating with her? Smash the window & drag her out.  She has endangered every other road user locally; has inconvenienced other drivers.  She doesn't deserve kid-gloves treatment.

Yeah, violence makes a better world🥴

She could have just lowered her window a tad and spoken to them.

The MOB is only there for the foreigners, Thai's are free to do as they please.

It was a minor accident, no one hurt, injured or killed, no MOB at the scene

and your solution is what exactly ?

should be charged with attempted murder as soon as he/she got behind the wheel, no sympathy for drunk drivers, maybe you'd think differently if you landed in hospital because of this idiot

The Police solution is quite appropriate. No force, no violence. (Are you American? )

Knowing or not everything if one lives in a society comes down to enforcement. Thus the reason Thailand has the problems they do so much we take for granted that we learn in the West, sure at times it is overboard but valud why it exist.

Like the comment victim receives a judgement ten years still nothing  because there isnt a system in place to collect.

Many places the assets legally would have be taken and sold so any wages garnished until judgement is paid.

Here go to the temple you feel better.
