Krabi Airport: Woman Lying on Baggage Belt Inappropriate, Not Illegal

Krabi International Airport officials have addressed a recent incident involving a woman lying on a baggage conveyor belt for an Instagram video. Although her actions caused no damage to government property, making them non-pursuable legally, the behaviour has been deemed inappropriate.

The widely-circulated video on social media shows the woman sprawled across the conveyor belt, accompanied by music and a caption reading, “Can I lie down like this?? Saw it on IG, I’m Thai.” The clip has sparked considerable public criticism and safety concerns.

Chanyut Srikaew, acting director of Krabi International Airport, confirmed their awareness of the incident via social media. While no legal boundaries were crossed as no property was harmed, Chanyut stressed that the behaviour was improper and not the intended use of the equipment.

In response, the airport plans to install clearer signage and increase staff oversight, working alongside various airlines to prevent similar incidents. Chanyut indicated that the baggage conveyor belt is designed to support heavy loads without gaps, posing minimal injury risk.

However, it is meant strictly for luggage. Passengers are advised against sitting or lying on the belt due to potential injuries, particularly from curved sections or falling off.

The acting director urged all airport users to avoid such actions to ensure safety standards are maintained.

Inappropriate, dumb and she likely needs a good slap up the side of her head. Bet it was for an Instagram shot or prank. Society is declining. People are getting dumber.

  • I’m Thai   That sums it up perfectly !

  • Jeez,  lighten up people.  A harmless prank.  It didn't offend buddha or the royal family.  So much worse happens every day.

The IQ and ignorance for taking pics of some people

And then there are all the people who look at those pictures and follow those influencers.

IQ < 80?

Now that they've said it isn't illegal,  all these wanna be influencers are going to jump on the bandwagon.

Just you wait till some Richard Cranium gets hurt, then we might see some proper action taken.

I expect to see someone getting their finger wrenched off on one of the corner/turning parts of the belt.

Hopefully just a few pinched bums (From the conveyor belt!) will sort this lot out.

Looks like luggage, behaves like luggage. 😁

Then make it illegal. It is dangerous and could cause flight delays, if the conveyor belt, breaks.
I realise that this isn’t a big deal, but I cannot see any reason for not making it illegal. 🤷‍♀️

No NEED to make it illegal.

All you gotta do is increase the belt speed by a factor of TEN.

Then, there might be something to see.

Exactly, Thingamabob, if you don't care about the thread, you can "move on", you're not here to dispense directions to the rest of us.

well this timely clarification of the legalities should, at least , enable most of the A. N  killjoys to sleep easier tonight.

So many snitches nowadays over such little things. God forbid someone has a bit of fun, harming no one in the process.

This one was not so lucky, but lucky still. Back in August.

Reminds me of an incident during the group stages of the 2002 world cup. Scotland were playing Croatia in Zagreb, and the Tartan Army, aka The Scottish Supports Club were in full attendance. Result was 1 all, so Scotland still in with a chance with much bonhomie all round. A leading member of the Tartan Army (a renowned lawyer,  no names mentioned) somewhat ratarsed when presented with the  airport X-Ray machine on the way back;  wearing full Highland dress decided to speed things up by diving himself head first though without removing any of his full tartan regalia, kilt pin, sporran, sgian-dubh as well as a couple of ceremonial swords. The event and copies of the X-Ray pictures were hilarious but never made it to the national press or Social Media.

Such was the ability at the time for self editing, not so today amongst today's 'Like me, Like me' generations.

And if she got injured she would try suing the Airport. Stupid woman.

A national ban on all conveyor belts.... potentially culturally detrimental.... especially that insulting retro-styled filtration 🤭

Do you know her?😍

Shall we see her again? On a new stunt or on a new conveyor belt?
