The body of a 47-year-old park ranger was discovered floating near the coast of Koh Kham in Rayong Province on the morning of September 24. The cause of death remains a mystery, and authorities are conducting a thorough investigation.

The deceased, identified as Surachit, was found face down in the water, dressed only in shorts, by local residents near the Khao Laem Ya-Mu Ko Samet National Park area. Officers from Pae Police Station, along with medical staff from Rayong Hospital and a rescue team, arrived on the scene shortly after 10:30 to recover the body. Preliminary examinations revealed no signs of injury, and it is believed that Surachit had been dead for at least two hours before being found.

Surachit, a cheerful man known to enjoy drinking, worked as a park ranger on Koh Kham. On the day of his death, he was off duty. Initial investigations suggest that he may have fainted and fallen into the sea without anyone noticing, eventually drowning. His body was later washed ashore by the tide, where it was discovered by locals who alerted the authorities.

Investigators are interviewing his colleagues on the island and his wife, as well as reviewing CCTV footage to determine the events leading up to his death. The body has been sent to Rayong Hospital for an autopsy.
