During the morning school run on September 30, a traffic collision occurred on Highway 21 in Huai Hin Subdistrict, Chai Badan District, Lopburi Province. A large truck collided with a school pickup bus near Ban Tung Ta Kaew, leaving multiple people injured.

According to initial reports from the scene, approximately 12 young students were hurt in the crash, as the impact throw them around the open rear compartment. Fortunately, none of the children fell out of the bus and the injuries appeared to be life-threatening. Those injured are reported to have suffered from minor to moderate injuries, and all were quickly taken to nearby hospitals for further medical treatment.

The pickup bus was transporting students to a local school when the truck driver is believed to have lost control, collided with the rear of the vehicle. The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation, but early indications suggest that the truck may have been speeding or that there was a failure to brake in time.Local authorities, including the Chai Badan Police and rescue teams, were swift in their response, with ambulances arriving on the scene within minutes.

Parents of the affected students were notified, and concerns raised as to how safe this form of transportation is for schools. The pickup bus was old and had few safety features fitted and this was a very minor crash that should not have resulted in so many injuries.

Police are working with both drivers to determine the cause of the collision.

Being used for commercial transportation I wonder how it ever passed a road-worthy test?
