Elon Musk, the finest Tigger impression ever seen on the political stage!   Oh his policies you ask? Whatever Donald says as long as he gets his tax cuts!

  • Why shouldn't we have an opinion? Americans have forced their opinions world wide, so why wouldn't we have a go at the American system since it do have an impact on us.

  • Trump 100%, Great man with great vsions.

Oh I don't know, I recall many Americans comment on the Brexit debate in the UK!

Equally, it is important to consider that with the incredible economic, military and political "clout" which the US holds, greater than any other nation, which they are not exactly backwards in displaying and at times using, and the role of "leaders of the free world" which again they are assiduous in ensuring is acknowledged, and have done since 1945: well then inevitably many worldwide will have opinions and wish to comment and/or contribute to the debate.

You can't really have it both ways: be the greatest power and influence on the world yet exist in isolation!

2.5 percent this year. Doesn't really cut it, does it?

I find your reasoning for who to vote for ridiculous either way.

People vote for what benefits them ...

... those 2 items, benefit me.

So add the 2.5% on to the last 3 yrs, and we're still looking good.  Average of 5% for 4 yrs vs what Trump possibly would repeat if elected.

Trump wants a weaker $$$ which means once again, a crap exchange rate, same as last time he was President, when it hit a low of ฿30 to $1.    Where Biden actually hit a high ฿38 to $1, staying about ฿35 for quite some time.

฿30 vs ฿38 to $1, is over 18k a month difference to my Soc Sec.  Even half that, then it's ฿9k a month.  So possibly, anywhere between ฿108 to ฿216k a year difference.  Depending if Trump weakens the $$$ or Harris bumps it up just a bit, or where Biden had it.

Trump took office Feb 2017 ... ฿34.9

Biden took office Feb 2021 .. ฿30

Biden hit a high of ฿38.9

Now ... ฿33.53 ... like I want Trump to lower it :cheesy:

So yea, those 2 issue impact me.  No other issue or policy change impacts me.  Why would I want a repeat of Trump, vs continuation of Biden/Harris/Dem politics ?

2024 ... HARRIS ... 2024

None of the above.
Trump will give tax breaks for the rich. = Boosting the federal deficit.
Harris will increase benefits for  "the poor". = Boosting the federal deficit.

How will it affect you personally?

Can you give us a list of how positively and negatively each candidate will affect your personal situation.

That increase of benefits puts it back into the economy, it all gets spent.

Tax cuts to the rich goes just goes into the pile, most likely in a different country.

Less than 10% of budget goes to social (welfare) programs for the poor.  Unless you include healthcare, which isn't stickily for the poor, and most to retirees, I think.  Graph 2022 budget %  (wiki)

Early polling seems to indicate a landslide to Harris with 85% of the vote.

And only 5% of voters voting for Trump because of his policies.

If that were genuinely the case....it is a no brainer.....'help' the poor, surely???? (That doesn't mean just give them money before the hard of thinking jump in)

Why do billionaires need even more money?

Vote Harris

Depends which way you look at it.

82% of voters voting for one purely because they other is so bad.

trump's economic policies are estimated to significantly increase the national debt and interest rates, Harris not so much. So far looks like trump has managed to BS his ignorant MAGA followers.

Trump's estimated economic plan would sink the nation $7.5 trillion further into to debt over the next decade, while Harris' estimated proposals would cost the government half that — around $3.5 trillion.

I sort of agree. I just can't stand the prospect of listening to her for four years. But I can't stand the idea of listening to him, too. Add a favorable exchange rate on to your reasons btw. As is, the poll doesn't allow for another non-Harris, non-Trump choice, so I didn't bother.

He, as I am, is voting his economic interest. Only a fool would vote against it. It's the most fundamental reason there is to cast a vote.

Obviously Trump. Harris has already said she will pour more gasoline on the Ukraine fire, potentially edging the US closer to a nuclear war with Russia.

Trump on the other hand is a realistic chance, not guarantee, but chance, to end the Ukraine war.

Nuclear holocaust or peace?

Hmmmm, tough one.

Precisely my thinking. I simply wish it was Biden running against Trump again, instead of that airheaded nitwit. I could bring myself to vote for Biden pretty easily, considering the economic benefits I got from his presidency.

As an old white guy, I would vote for someone how I thought would promote my self interest.

Sadly, leaving only Trump as my choice.

Hmmmm, tough one.

This is basically Kremlin propaganda.

We already know Trump's so called peace plan. Vance leaked it.

Total surrender of Ukraine to Russia.

Everything for Russia.

Nothing for Ukraine.

In such a temporary solution that Ukraine would never agree to anyway, the current lines would be frozen, allowing Russia to regroup for their next assault.

It would reward them for their villainy. No friggin way!

The nuke threats from Putin are BLUFFS.

Well OK, I can appreciate the honest.

The maga fascist movement is indeed a white nationalist movement.
