It looks like every external drive over 1 TB on Lazada is a Chinese fake. There must be huge factories in China churning out fake products. I guess Communism sucks. -

A vote for Trump is a vote for Putin / Orban / Kim Jong Un
I have already voted by absentee ballots (faxed it in). I will not say I voted FOR Harris, but I will say I voted AGAINST Trump. So, yes, I checked the box next to Harris' name. I have said for months now that neither party will accept the results of this election, and yes, I think in either case, there will be "blood in the streets." And I'll be watching it all happen on CNN from my easy chair in my house nestled in the jungle-filled mountains of northeastern Thailand. -

Phuket taxi driver hits foreign man on airport zebra crossing
I would say most of us just transferred our foreign drivers license to Thai Drivers licenses, I did so for both my USA Vehicle license and Motorcycle license. Though I had extensive drivers training already back home, including the MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) courses. I also read up thoroughly on the Thai Traffic Act, which isn't much different from laws back home, but you'll find Thai drivers have very little understanding of their own laws/rules (ignorance is bliss I guess). -

Siamburi's today.
Sensible point but Thailand's Siamburi's is not a vast supermarket with own brand products. The exception was probably bulk purchases of cheese where they repackaged smaller portions.....FDA didn't like that apparently. I agree that competition between Thailand supermarket groups is possible and you can see this with Big C, Lotus' and Makro - my Tchibo coffee is nearly always cheaper in Makro. Competition is limited because of the size/power of CP. Saving a few Baht is more challenging because, like the UK, no one supermarket can be the cheapest on every product. -

High-Speed Pursuit Ends in Dramatic Crash: Two Seriously Injured in Amnat Charoen
In the early hours of October 16, a high-speed car chase turned into a terrifying crash in Amnat Charoen, leaving two individuals seriously injured. A white Mazda car, being pursued by two or three pickup trucks, lost control and crashed into a roadside utility pole. The force of the impact caused the car to flip multiple times, ejecting both passengers from the vehicle. Eyewitnesses reported that a group of men, dressed in what appeared to be plainclothes and similar to law enforcement officers, had been driving the pickup trucks in pursuit of the car. After the crash, they stopped at the scene to inspect the wreckage. The car’s rear and driver’s side were severely damaged, with both rear wheels folded inward. The two individuals inside, whose identities remain unknown as no documents were found on them, sustained critical injuries. Rescue workers from the Phetkasem Foundation quickly transported them to Amnat Charoen Hospital. Witnesses at the scene stated that the chase had originated in Mukdahan and was heading toward Amnat Charoen city. The crash occurred on a downhill section near the entrance to the local bus station. The car had been traveling at high speed, with no indication of slowing down, before it veered off the road and struck the utility pole, sending the vehicle airborne and across lanes. Initial speculation suggested that the incident may have been caused by a loss of control. However, the presence of the pursuing pickups, along with the behavior of the men who arrived on the scene, has raised questions about whether the crash resulted from an attempted apprehension or a chase gone wrong. Authorities from the Amnat Charoen Police Station are currently investigating, gathering evidence and witness statements to determine the cause of the incident and any potential legal actions to follow. Leopard spotted in Kaeng Krachan National Park in Phetchaburi
A leopard made a rare daytime appearance in Kaeng Krachan National Park, located in the Kaeng Krachan district of Phetchaburi. Mongkol Chaipakdee, head of Kaeng Krachan National Park, confirmed that a tourist captured detailed photos of the leopard lounging on a road inside the park on Tuesday, October 15. Mongkol noted that leopard sightings have become more frequent recently, indicating an increase in their hunting activities within the park. This trend highlights the park’s thriving ecosystem, which serves as a crucial habitat for various rare wildlife species. Park officials have reminded tourists to remain vigilant while exploring the area, reported Bangkok Post. by Puntid Tantivangphaisal Photo courtesy of Bangkok Post Source: The Thaiger -- 2024-10-17 -
