Bangkok Governor Leads City Footpath Upgrade Revolution
Bangkok’s streets are set for a transformative makeover, guided by Governor Chadchart Sittipunt. On Tuesday, he partnered with Deputy Governor Wisanu Subsompon to review progress on the ambitious footpath renovation along Itsaraphap Road near the MRT Itsaraphap Station. This project, started in June and projected to conclude by January 2025, is part of a citywide initiative to enhance pedestrian safety and accessibility within a one-kilometre radius of MRT stations. The governor emphasised meticulous attention to detail, particularly with manhole covers and construction materials, to ensure public safety. He stressed the importance of maintaining cleanliness and adhering to deadlines to avoid project delays. Beyond sidewalks, Chadchart inspected a bicycle parking area near Wat Ratchasittharam Ratchaworawihan, with plans to repaint and improve facilities as part of fostering a bike-friendly city. This move aligns with efforts to modernise and make Bangkok's streets more accessible. Earlier, issues on Sukhumvit Soi 23 were highlighted, where water pipe work had damaged road surfaces. The governor’s rounds also included Lat Phrao intersection, with a major pavement overhaul underway after years of neglect. Residents have long contended with deteriorating paths, debris, and potholes, prompting calls for more orderly construction zones. Through these concerted efforts, Governor Chadchart aims to navigate Bangkok towards a cleaner, safer, and more accessible future for all pedestrians. File photo for reference only -- 2024-10-17 -

Kamala Harris Defends Policy Stance in Heated Fox News Interview
Well, that's generally what politicians do. But she did actually offer factual evidence in reply. Trump simply makes things up,r engages in empty insults, and offers irrelevant replies. But that apparently doesn't count with you. -

Kamala Harris Defends Policy Stance in Heated Fox News Interview
Whatever the validity of your characterization of Harris thinking, what evidence is there that Trump can even think rationally? His ludicrous defense of high tariffs alone - that they won't increase prices - is nuts. -

TC Space Connect Poised to Secure Thai Satellite Orbit Licences
In a notable advancement, the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has announced TC Space Connect as the winning bidder for the remaining satellite orbit packages. These crucial slots, situated at 50.5° East, 51° East, and 142° East, are pivotal assets in Thailand's satellite communications landscape. TC Space Connect, a subsidiary of Thaicom, emerged as the sole bidder qualifying for these licences following an extensive review by the bid selection committee. The NBTC, as planned, initiated discussions on October 16 to outline the specific details related to the proposal's acceptance. The final decision by the board, or any potential recommendations, will be disclosed in a special meeting on October 21. According to sources from within the NBTC, TC Space Connect is highly anticipated to be awarded the right to these lucrative slots, particularly the 50.5° East position, due to its impending expiry on November 27. The proposal from TC Space Connect evidently aligns with NBTC’s conditions, appearing advantageous for national interests. While some refinements may be suggested by the board to maximise benefits, the submission is generally seen as favourable. Saneh Saiwong, leading NBTC’s bidder selection committee, noted that the decision about the specific awarding of slots remains premature, pending further board deliberations. This follows the NBTC's inaugural auction of satellite orbit slots in January 2023, marking a significant step in bolstering Thailand’s position in the satellite industry. Recently, the NBTC revised its policy, eliminating the mandate for winning bidders to launch satellites within three years, though they must ensure the country's continual entitlement to these orbits through other means. These developments underscore a significant shift in Thailand’s telecommunication strategy, potentially enhancing connectivity and technological advancement in the region. As TC Space Connect stands on the brink of acquiring these vital satellite packages, the country's satellite industry keenly awaits it all to unfold. File photo for reference only -- 2024-10-17 -

Trump will go after his perceived enemies
And which law was broken? (Hint, none) No different than Biden and Harris’s pre arranged softball questions. Oh wait, Harris the Democrat candidate for POTUS hasn’t held a formal press conference yet. Almost 90 days. What’s up with that? -

Be warned about Lazada's new silly rule
You started it with your second post on this thread when a poster simply pointed out that Lazada rules allow you to reject a 'paid for' order and claim a refund. I understood that, it appears that you didn't. On a personal note I have never had a problem with Lazada on 200+ orders - and I am happy with their terms of business. Also, I have never looked somewhere else for a cheaper price once I have ordered from somebody.......that's just me. -

How much negotiation on new bikes?
If you’re talking about real bikes instead of upright lawnmowers, the answer is yes. Sign on the bike in the Bangkok dealership said ฿1.5 million, I walked out with it for 1.2 million baht. I don’t think the scooters you are talking about have enough margins since they are so cheap already that you can’t negotiate much more than a ฿200 helmet and maybe a T-shirt. -

I actually think she just doesn't have the intellectual capability to think critically on her feet. She could be the leader of the free world. Chairman Xi must be licking his lips.- 1
