The incident occurred early morning on October 17,at the descent of the Pracharat Intersection Bridge in Nonthaburi, leading to the death of one individual and critical injuries to another.

 

At around 06:30 police officers from Mueang Nonthaburi Police Station, along with rescue workers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation, responded to the scene following reports of a collision involving a car, a taxi, and a motorcycle with a sidecar. The incident took place on the overpass of Pracharat Intersection on the bypass road in Talat Khwan, Nonthaburi.

 

Upon arriving, authorities found a sidecar motorcycle used to sell meatballs overturned in the middle of the road. Nearby was the body of Mr. Boonchu, 47, a street vendor from Khon Kaen, who had died at the scene. Another individual, Mr. Sirisak, 52, the taxi driver involved in the initial collision, was found unconscious and critically injured. He was immediately transported to Phra Nang Klao Hospital by paramedics.

 

 

A damaged taxi, identified as the vehicle of the injured driver, was found nearby, with visible damage to its hood and front bumper. A green car with a shattered windshield was also present at the scene.

 

According to relatives, the deceased meatball vendor was on his way to refill his gas cylinder when the accident occurred. Eyewitnesses reported that the taxi collided with the vendor’s sidecar motorcycle, causing it to overturn in the middle of the road, trapping Mr. Boonchu beneath. The taxi driver, Mr. Sirisak, exited his vehicle to help the fallen vendor when a car descending the bridge struck both men at high speed.

 

Police have recorded statements from witnesses and the car driver while also gathering footage from nearby surveillance cameras to aid in their investigation. 

 

The body of the deceased has been transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy.
