Breaking an Engagement to a Thai woman, does she keep the ring?
Interesting comments and recommendations on the topic. In viewing the comments and looking at other information sites, it appears that in the USA situation, it depends on the state who gets to keep the ring. Thus, it seems almost a 50/50 situation. It is a condition on a promise, therefore not followed through, the ring is returned... If the fault is with the male, then the woman may keep it.... As for the Thai situation.. that was only a question if the problem would occur here. It is open season in Thailand. There was an interesting case on the tube for an Engagement ring valued at 70K USD... The judge returned it to the male. The judge was a female and the court was in California. -

Hotels with pool bars that are actually open
VT2 and VT1 have a restaurant of sorts away from the pool but by the pool, if that makes sense, but definitely nothing of the swim up variety. Nova Platinum (ex bowling alley in South Pattaya) theoretically has one but it was never being used when I looked. I thought maybe the Dusit or Royal Cliff might ? -

Will marriage O visa holders need to use the Thai e-Visa website?
For now, the ETA proposal has been delayed. It was originally proposed only for those coming in "Visa Exempt," but ... "... suspended on October 16 by the Cabinet at least until April 2025." https://www.pattayamail.com/latestnews/news/the-real-deal-about-the-end-of-one-of-thailands-unpopular-address-forms-476283 The article goes on to say, however ... At some stage in 2025 the ETA system will be extended to include all foreigners entering Thailand, including all non-immigrant visa holders such as retirees. They do not say where they obtained that information, and I hope it is unfounded, but this is the way the wind is blowing. I learned of this article here: -
