wprime Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 My car is 11 months old and already it's saying that 'oil change now' warning. It has <2000km on it. It MY2024, base engine. Is this normal? Seems a bit quick.
Sigmund Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 With the poor quality of maintenance even with the dealerships and considering the specificities of a Porsche, I would not drive such a car in Thailand. Sure, it can be serviced with the local Somchai who repairs fans and lawnmovers, but that is a one way ticket to end up with serious problems at one point 4 1

transam Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 11 months old, there could be an oil change time as well as covered mileage oil change. There could be a first oil change at 2000km, what does the handbook say...? 1
Jitar Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 Engine oil change every 12 months is wise, even if km are low. 1 1
brianthainess Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 Are you sure it's an oil change warning light and not just the 'Service' light as they can come on for various reasons, mine has been on for 2yrs now, and the diagnosis is that it is the oxygen/fuel sensor, that a. they did not have in stock....b. 4k to change...c. my fuel consumption is just the same. I have learnt to just ignore it. Oh and they charged me 500b just for the diagnosis.
Popular Post JBChiangRai Posted October 25, 2024 Popular Post Posted October 25, 2024 My Porsche Taycan never took any oil in the two years I owned it. 🙂 1 1 1
it is what it is Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 tbh, i'd be contacting porsche for info rather than random people on this site. depends how much you value your car's engine i guess. 1

That makes sense. And if Porsche suggests that the way it should be then follow whatever they suggest. If you don't do that, then you might lose warranty. And people who like to buy such a car (whenever you want to sell it) prefer cars which are serviced according to the book - including detailed invoices.
Yellowtail Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 I would have changed the oil in a new engine at 500-1,000km Again at 5,000 and then per the schedule after that. 1
JAS21 Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 Porsche recommend annual oil change even if usage is low. There is a forum for your car and joining may be an idea. When it’s out of warranty or the main dealer cannot sort a problem take it to CT14 garage in Bangkok…they are Porsche experts. 1
