A man was found dead in a Ratchaburi orchard following a fatal assault with a metal pipe, authorities reported on November 2. The incident occurred around 13:20 in a garden area behind Damnoen Saduak Hospital in Moo 5, Tha Nat Subdistrict, Damnoen Saduak District, Ratchaburi.

Emergency responders from the Ruamjai Foundation (Pang Lai Koh 36) arrived at the scene, where they discovered the body of a male victim lying in the orchard canal. The deceased was later identified as Mr. Tatsanai Khumphai; his age and address remain unknown.

Responders removed the body from the canal water, and discovered that the victim had suffered severe blunt force trauma to the head. A long metal pipe with some blood stains was found near the canal.

Police Sub-Lieutenant Paiwan Peekaeo, responsible for the case, led the investigation on behalf of Damnoen Saduak Police Station. The victim’s body was transferred to Damnoen Saduak Hospital for an autopsy.

The investigation is on going and authorities expressed gratitude to the local volunteers who assisted at the scene.

So rather than wear gloves and 'bagging it' the cop just picks it up in his bare hands and wanders around with the alleged weapon ?

Looking at the Op photo it's good to see the RTP officer "handling" the metal pipe, which could be used by forensics to identify the culprit.

I immediately had him pegged as a suspect. His fingerprints are all over the assumed weapon.😀

The contamination of evidence doesn't seem to stop the conviction of suspects in Thailand. Most seem to confess to the crime anyway after some friendly interrogation.
