Police in Thailand have apprehended a 21-year-old suspect in connection with a violent altercation at the Amazing Hidden Lin Lablae festival in Uttaradit province, where two young individuals lost their lives and two others were injured. The festival, held in June, was marred by a deadly brawl involving a group of teens employed at a local durian factory.

The Region Two Police yesterday arrested Kittiphan Saipanya, a native of Sisaket province, in Chon Buri. Authorities have charged him with premeditated murder, attempted murder, and carrying a weapon in public. Though the charges are serious, Kittiphan vehemently denies any involvement in the crime.

A Police spokesperson expressed confidence in the evidence linking Kittiphan to the tragic events that unfolded at the festival. "The suspect has been taken into custody and will be transferred to Uttaradit for further legal proceedings," the spokesperson added.

The arrest comes after extensive investigations aimed at bringing those responsible for the deaths of the two local youths to justice. The community remains shaken by the incident, with many hoping for a swift judicial process to provide closure to the victims' families.
