I have a Ford Ranger that I do not use, for now it still has first claase insurance in addition to the mandatory insurance and road tax paid until July 2025. When it expires will I be obligated to renew the first class insurance even if the car is sitting parked?

No - only the Por-ror-bor, compulsory insurance is needed.

Legally, you don't 'need / have' to renew 1st Class insurance if you don't want it.

That said, even though you are not using it, theft etc is not covered by compulsory insurance.

The car is parked inside the area of my house protected by usually closed gate, I think almost impossible to steal. However thanks for your reply,

Aren't there lower classes of insurance (2nd or 3rd) that will still cover theft (or fire)?

i think so although i am not sure, anyway i am trying to sell it but it is not easy because the car is new and with very few kilometers. it is easier to sell an old car in good condition even with many kilometers

You mean, its not easy to sell it for the price you think its worth, because people paying those amounts will pay a little more for a new car ??

IF wishing to sell, you have to price the car well - take values from one2car.com and price accordingly with the competition.

I just checked and I see that the prices of the same model as mine even older and with more miles are asking prices similar to mine. Anyway it is not a problem if it does not sell it will stay there parked.
