a two week war

You mean a two weeks 'Special Operation', don't you? That is what has been sold to the Russian public opinion.

A special operation that even the Moscow police department could have easily carried out without encountering any significant resistance.
Instead, three years and almost half a million Russian casualties later ...

We are one month away from the war hitting the three year mark.  Not bad for a two week war.

It’s the west that ever said it was a 2 week war and indeed it would have been (just one week actually) if Russia was only fighting Ukraine. Considering the incompetence of the Russian army and lack of weapons and ammunition, except for Chinese made shovels, Russia has done very well against the so called might of NATO. 3 years on, NATO hasn’t been able to drive the Russian fighters consisting of convicts and minorities out of Ukraine. Goes to show that NATO isn’t that mighty after all and all their wonder weapons have failed miserably.

And oh yes, their economy is doomed, much like China’s economy has collapsed multiple times over the past 10 years…

Hey, your leader has cocked up big time, so stop making excuses, THREE YEARS, and now no Big Macs..........😱

Your choice of what constitutes a meal says a lot about who and what you are. On the other hand, just a week ago, I was eating roast quail, sashimi crayfish, Peking Duck, just to name a few delicacies.

Amazing that the Russians are winning in the East, despite being told on here that they have no men, ammunition, missiles or tanks.

Seems some have been misinformed.

Been a bit of destruction and a few casualties on the Ukrainian side too, or is that just Russian propaganda?

9th most populous country in the world, blessed with an immense landmass and resources.

Most Russians I know are happy with their lives. My ex-gf already owned her own 2 bedroom apartment in St.P when she was only 25 yrs old. I stayed there before; mighty comfortable with extremely cheap heating during winter.

What does Russia export other than natural resources? What value added products does it produce that is in demand in the rest of the world?

Life in Peter is relatively nice indeed. But the second largest and most culturally significant city in the country is hardly going to be representative of the nation as a whole.

Russia was always going to win a war of attrition; sadly the west is allowing this to be a very real possibility through their tepid support of Ukraine.

And what then, should the worst occur? Do you seriously think that if Ukraine capitulates, we can go back to how life was before, and that Russia should face no sanction for its actions? Putin, once again, allowed to traipse around the world like a genuine leader of a democratic nation? I think that would make most rational people outraged.

I agree: Truly amazing, considering how inept and corrupt the military and civilians who control the levers of power in Russia are.

And this despite Russia, a country covering a total area being about 28 times larger than Ukraine's, with a population which is 3.25 times bigger than Ukraine's, and a GDP per capita 1.81 times higher than Ukraine's, being a real Goliath when compared to the Ukrainian David.

And besides being 'amazing', Putin's "victory" looks everyday more like a Pyrrhus' victory.

Pyrrhus, king of the Epirus, defeated the Romans at Asculum in Apulia in 279 B.C.E., suffering so high losses that he is said to have told those who congratulated him, “One more such victory and Pyrrhus is undone”.

What Putin has won so far are an area of Ukraine his army has destroyed to such an extent, that it will take a fortune to rebuild it and take it back to pre-war life conditions (a fortune that Russia doesn't have), and the need to resort to the help of a disaster-stricken nations like North Korea and Iran to keep the Russian army afloat.

And if this is what the word 'victory' means in the language spoken in Russia, I wonder what the words 'defeat' and 'humiliation' mean.

Because Putin's supposed "victory" in my native language is called defeat and humiliation.

Putin claim he could defeat Ukraine which little effort.

The Russians are not fighting NATO.  They are fighting Ukraine.   Russia has zero chance of beating NATO.
