COVID-19 Severity Fades, But Virus Remains, says Dr. Yong
Must be over 90% of the Thai population now NOT wearing masks. I can't believe anyone still wears them. -

Israel’s Disinformation Campaign Against UNRWA
Israel knows it can do whatever it wants and a big part of "the west" will let them get away with it. Does that mean they lie all the time? No, not necessarily. But they can lie all the time, and nothing happens. And that is obviously a situation which almost invites them to lie all the time. There is no accountability for Israels actions. That is the problem. -

Yingluck's Return Like Thaksin Requires Jail Time, Says Wissanu
Picture courtesy: Thai Rath Wisanu Krue-ngam has commented on the possibility of former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra returning to Thailand, stating that her return would be subject to the legal process, similar to her brother, Thaksin Shinawatra, who has already been incarcerated. On 10th December 2567, Visanu Krue-ngam, former Deputy Prime Minister, addressed media queries about Yingluck’s potential return. He noted that while she could come back, like Thaksin, it would involve a royal pardon process. Should she return and agree to imprisonment, the matter would then fall under the Department of Corrections once the court procedures are completed. Questions were raised about Yingluck’s health, unlike Thaksin who required hospitalisation. Visanu responded that as far as he knew, there were no reports of Yingluck being ill, while confirming that Thaksin has indeed served time in prison, albeit not under the harsher conditions typical of the public's imagination. Visanu emphasised that the process followed for Thaksin involved initial jail admission and standard procedures such as signing in, changing clothes, and medical checks before transfer to a detention facility, albeit one newly fitted with basic amenities like a shower. Regarding doubts about Thaksin's illness, Visanu cited medical assessments and ongoing legal discussions concerning the length of Thaksin's sentence, initially estimated at 11 years but later clarified to be 8 years after judicial consultation. On expectations for Yingluck's return next year, Visanu advised patience, indicating it would all depend on entering the legal and judicial system, and reiterated the necessity of abiding by the legal process upon her possible return, reported Thai Rath. -- 2024-12-11 -

COVID-19 Severity Fades, But Virus Remains, says Dr. Yong
H5N1 avian flu like all zoonotic viral evolutionary processes is finding it very difficult to infect humans. This is in complete contradistinction to Sars-CoV-2 which instantly infected human cells. Unless a gain of function version of H5N1 escapes from a lab it shouldn't become an epidemic. As for the current Covid situation it's been a non-fatal and non-severe viral infection since Delta was pushed aside by Omicron for the vast majority of people. Even with Delta it was the old and comorbid folk that got hit the worst. -
