Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all,

I've scheduled an appointment at CW Bangkok to extend Retirement Visa for Dec 23. I also am trying to schedule an appointment for a Re-Entry Permit on the same day. The month grid offers 23Dec as an option but when I click that date I get the message "The available booking period is insufficient for your number of people.". Not sure if I'm doing something wrong. Should I just present the required docs for re-entry permit to IO when extending Visa or queue up for an appointment upon arrival on Dec 23. Thanks

That won't work. Reentry permit is done at different desks.

The extension you are doing is done L desks.

Remember to print out your appointment for extension.

Assuming you are aware that reentry permit can be obtain at airport on day of departure.

At Bangkok airports they offer (not compulsory) a service to fill in TM8, photo etc 200b

EDIT: I just tried to make booking for reentry permit on dec 23. No problem , but only two slots 8.30 and 1pm.

You must get extension first so

1pm.

Best option is airport

There is absolutely no way I would queue up at CW for a re-entry - there is just no need. Get it at the airport whenever you next fly out. I just did it a couple of weeks ago at Suvarnabhumi, multiple re-entry. It honestly took less than five minutes from walking up to the desk to receiving my passport back, and that includes them doing all the form filling and taking a photo. 4,000 baht (3,800 for the multi re-entry and 200 baht for them doing all the work). You don't need to prepare anything at all.

If it is busy it might take 15-20 minutes maximum, I can't imagine it would ever take longer than that. The previous time I did it a family of five got there just in front of me and there were a few already waiting, but I was still done in less than 10 minutes.

For me, just do your extension at CW then get out of that hell hole as fast as you can. (I understand some people may be worried about the airport being busy or it taking so long they miss their flight but that is never the case, it's quick and easy).

OP, good advice above.

Just note the reentry permit desk is just to left side of immigration lines.

Zone 2 just after security check..

At BKK you obtain reentry permit prior to passport control and at DMK the permit desk is just after passport control.

I will get it at the airport if I cant get it at CW but I'm the type that expects the taxi or train breaks down on the way. I hate leaving things for last minute
