What Would Make You Leave Thailand, Permanently?
Many people like Spain & Portugal, but unless you live in the big cities you will need to learn Spanish. There’s Australia, New Zealand but they are not cheap. I have heard parts of Italy are nice. I have been in Thailand for 13 years also from California where I would never be able to afford and the wife wouldn’t feel safe. I’m always looking for a back door too. Patrick -

Opening bank account rules catch 22 (1-year extension)
Additionally, in two banks they stated that I do not even have a non immigrant visa as no visa sticker in my passport. Never even heard that Thailand moved over to evisa's. In one bank (UOB) the bank staff actually tried to scan the QR code at the bottom of the evisa, but they get only a long text line, no link. Guess that QR code is only useable on the immigration computersystem, the officer did scan it when entering at the airport. -
