Joe Biden should pardon himself for every unsubstantiated claim Trump made about in for the last four years, or pick a really good one like a pardon for stealing the 2020 election. For people who believe that president's should not be able to pardon themselves, this would be a brilliant political move.

Biden's pardon of himself would be challenged in the courts right away. That would force Trump to decide whether or not he should pardon himself, and it would put the issue in the courts before Trump does it. If Biden waits on Trump to pardon himself, the issue might not reach the courts for years AFTER Trump leaves office. It also puts Trump in the awkward position of having to join the lawsuit to defend Joe Biden pardoning himself from a nonsense allegation Trump himself made. It puts the issue of self-pardons in front of the conservative Supreme Court with a democrat having done it (or Trump and Biden together), making them more easy to see how bad of an idea a self pardon is. This move would also make MAGAs totally glitch out- they would have to defend Biden to defend Trump? They would have to be against self-pardons?

I can't think of a downside to Joe Biden doing this. I think the Supreme Court would rule against a self pardon in any case, but this speeds up the process to prevent Trump from employing the self-pardon as a delay.

If he pardoned himself for stealing the 2020 election and the worldwide mayhem that ensued, he would be inviting forensic audits of places like Fulton county(see my avatar).

He, and his party, do not want any of this to happen, understandibly.

I suspect during Trumps 2nd term whistleblowers will reveal all the dirty deeds in 2020 which required such draconian censorship.
