Man Shoots Female Relative Dead, Injures Her Husband Critically in Samut Sakhon

A domestic dispute turned deadly on the night of December 16, when a 48-year-old man fatally shot his female cousin and critically injured her husband in Krathum Baen District. The incident occurred at a residence in Om Noi Subdistrict and was reported to local police at approximately 21.00.

 

Authorities, including high-ranking police officers and local officials, rushed to the scene. Upon arrival, they found the body of Ms. Nawarat Woonbamrung, 42, lying on a wooden bench in front of the house. She had been shot once in the right temple with a 9mm pistol. Nearby, a pool of blood marked where her husband, Mr. Thanes Khumprapa, 31, had collapsed after being shot in the neck. Emergency responders transported him to Mahachai 2 Hospital, where he remains in critical condition under intensive care.

 

Police recovered two 9mm shell casings at the scene. The alleged shooter, identified as Mr. Romranchai Siripanrungsi, 48, resides in a neighbouring house and is a cousin of the deceased woman.

 

According to relatives, tensions had been simmering between the victim and the suspect. Ms. Nawarat was reportedly known for her harsh verbal outbursts, often criticising others without restraint. On the evening of the incident, she became upset over a neighbour's construction work and began shouting in front of her house, allegedly insulting the suspect's family in the process.

 

Witnesses stated that Mr. Romranchai, typically described as calm, snapped under the verbal provocation. He retrieved a firearm and confronted Ms. Nawarat. Despite attempts by other relatives to intervene, the argument escalated. Ms. Nawarat reportedly threatened to file a police complaint, further aggravating the situation.

 

In a fit of rage, the suspect shot Mr. Thanes first before turning the gun on Ms. Nawarat. After the shooting, Mr. Romranchai reportedly expressed remorse and attempted to take his own life but was stopped by a family member. He later fled the scene, leaving the weapon behind.

 

Authorities have launched a manhunt to apprehend the suspect, who has reportedly contacted a respected elder to negotiate his surrender. Investigators are also gathering eyewitness accounts to build a case.

 

Pol. Col. Teeradej Athipakkul, Deputy Commander of Samut Sakhon Provincial Police, has ordered an extensive search for the fugitive and emphasized the need to bring him to justice.

well,    she won't be yelling anymore verbal abuse at the cousin and his family,    there'  fixed that problem.
