An incident occurred in Roi Et Province when a sudden change in wind direction caused a eucalyptus tree to fall on a worker, resulting in fatal head injuries.

The incident was reported to Pol Sub-Lt Rattanon Ngachaiphum of Mueang Roi Et Police Station. Together with Dr. Badin Phadungsat, a forensic doctor from Roi Et Hospital, and Asok Rescue Unit, authorities inspected the scene in the middle of a rice field at Ban Non Sawan, Village 9, Non Rang Subdistrict, Mueang Roi Et District.

The deceased was identified as Mr. Kosin 42, a resident of Non Rang Subdistrict. He had been hired as an assistant to cut eucalyptus trees in the area. Unfortunately, as one of the trees fell, it struck his head, causing a fatal skull fracture. Medical examiners confirmed that the death was not intentional and not caused by foul play.

Mr. Praphat, 45, the employer and resident of the same village, recounted the incident. He stated that he had repeatedly warned the workers to be cautious when trees fell. The victim, who had experience working on similar jobs for several days, had been alert and cautious throughout. However, on this occasion, a sudden, strong gust of wind shifted direction unexpectedly, causing the partially cut tree to fall toward where the victim was retreating.

Following the incident, Mr. Praphat attempted to resuscitate the victim while others called the police and rescue services, but the injuries proved too severe, and Mr. Kosin passed away at the scene.

The family of the deceased did not suspect foul play and accepted the incident as a tragic event. Authorities have released the body to the family.
