Bluesky or X (formally known as Twitter) - Where do YOU feel "safe" to post

Have you made the shift to Bluesky post Trump's election win or are you remaining on X - or will you use both?  Feel free to explain your reasons why.

As a "free speech absolutist" I find that X fits my needs, plus I personally like using the AI interface, Grok.  It can be useful.  I don't need a highly moderated "safe space" for my "tweets."

I use X. I constantly mute people for various reasons. I said the other day that I have the word "Trump" blocked. I'll see enough about him through other accounts without my timeline being swamped.

People who are leaving X due to "white supremacy" etc are telling on themselves. It takes two minutes to mute racist accounts and contrary to opinion, some of the most racist accounts you'll see are by Asians.

I don't see any sexual content, that's all blocked, but I do see plenty of cultural threads, football and other sports. The X timeline is what you make it. All I know about Bluesky is that its apparently are dominated by leftwingers. I see plenty of left wing comment on Twitter so no need to go there.

Absolutely. There is a lefty-oriented echo chamber already on X, a remnant of the Dorsey-run site. Still relevant, active, free to do it's thing. Musk liberated X, allowing for alternate views by lifting the censorship. Result? Real competition of ideas in the marketplace expressed on a major social media platform.

Who would want to be against that?

Lefties had so enjoyed the heavy-handed censorship of the earlier twitter, leading them to a false belief they were right, and owned the market with their views on political and other issues.

Not so fast, it turned out. At least since Musk acquired it, that is. And now with the '24 election/rejection of the dims and Harris in the books, and  their utter shock of Trump's victory, one of their scapegoats to explain it is X.

Just another moment of the "You want the truth? You can't handle the truth!"

So now lefties doing what they do best. Flee in the face of truth and reality. Gotta get to a 'safe space'. It does provide a chuckle or two when reading all the "I am/I will be leaving X because.....". If bluesky didn't exist, you'd have to invent it.

You have forgotten to include the main beneficiary of users leaving X, which is Meta's Threads. With already 300 million monthly users, Threads is the main challenger and may become the  market leader next year.

Musk also 'liberated' X from a very large part of its revenues! 😆

TV used to be the idiot box, now the idiots have gone to social media.
