Yesterday marked a groundbreaking moment for Thai cinema as GDH announced that their film, *How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies*, has been shortlisted for the 97th Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category. Directed by Pat Boonnitipat and written by Ped Thodsapon, this film has made history as Thailand's first to reach the prestigious shortlist, joining the ranks of 14 other films from an original pool of 85 international entries.

As we anticipate the final nomination announcement on January 17, 2025, and the eventual reveal of the winners on March 2, the spotlight is firmly on Thailand's burgeoning film industry. GDH has lauded the creative team, from producers Jira Maligool and Vanridee Pongsittisak to lead actors Usha Seamkhum and Putthipong Assaratanakul, for their incredible contributions.

The heartfelt support from fans, who affectionately call the film *Grandma*, has been integral to this success. Since 1984, Thailand has persistently submitted films for this category but never made it to the final 15—until now. Previous notable submissions include *The Story of Nampoo*, *The Overture*, and *Krasue: Inhuman Kiss*.

This milestone underscores the expanding global recognition of Thai cinema and sets the stage for a promising future for its filmmakers, infusing pride across creators and supporters alike. With the final nominations approaching, anticipation and excitement continue to rise both within Thailand and globally.
