Latest developments and discussion of recent events in the Ukraine War
Our leader, Vladimir, recently said that Russia has enough strength to return all its historical territories. Z guys fully endorse the ambitions of our leader. Russian people are gradually getting tired of war and this creates a demand for a large, strong state like the Soviet Union. Many Ukrainians are fighting heroically for their independence. However, Vladimir knows that in war heroes gradually pass away, and most people are not heroes and just want to live in security, like in the Soviet Union. -

Yesterday I ate at Fuji after a long time of not eating there. Who gets the 10%? Waiters?
It should be going to the staff. That's what I assume and I don't tip on top of the 10% or 17% when it's charged. If some staff don't receive it, that's their problem. If the 10% service isn't clearly displayed somewhere, you don't legally have to pay it apparently but it's not really worth causing a fuss over 90 baht. -

Nong Khai Border Bounce. Avoid !!!
Please explain exactly how my post illustrating my observation of an interaction I witnessed is incorrect? I assume that you were not actually present during that interaction. The posts of others are not relevant. That you are usually given a 7 day deadline on leaving Thailand after being refused an extension application is for all intents and purposes a 7 day extension. It is purely semantics to say that it is not 7 day extension, I have never been denied so I do not know the details that are stamped into a passport. If you have an example please provide a scan (suitably obfuscated of course) so the correct exact terminology can be used. -

2025 stock favorites
Good question, so I looked up SCB, since that would be an excellent return. In the last 12 months the share price has fluctuated between 100 and 118 baht. https://www.set.or.th/en/market/product/stock/quote/SCB/price For the first half of 2024 they approved a dividend of 2 baht per share. https://www.scb.co.th/getmedia/c8ebdcdd-3167-45c8-a52f-ed5139b86f96/interim-dividend-first-half-year-2024-en.pdf?ext=.pdf So 2 dividends per year is 4 baht? That sounds more like 4%, on which has to be paid 20% of taxes. -

Foreign men attack Phuket taxi driver over fare dispute - video
Please read the article more caefully. The taxi driver said "They refused to pay the fare. They gave me only 50 baht.” What had happened was that the taxi driver was faced with the unpleasant situation of finding a FX shop for these narcissistic youth or not getting paid. 570 baht may not be a lot of money to you but for a bolt driver it may mean the difference of breaking even that night. After wasting time finding them a supermarket, the driver thoght 200 baht was a fair price for the service. I agree. The arrogrant narcissistic youth thought the driver should be happy with 50 baht. This was an insult. As you have no empathy for the locals and beleive it's okay to get into a cab without money and then demand the driver to find a FX shop for 50 baht, I cannot do business with you. As to your assumption that I have not lived in Thailand that long and do not know how to negotaite with Thais, I will not dignify you with a response. All can I say if you beleive this is the way to negotiate with locals, you are going to get yourself knifed or even worse. -
