Thai FDA Warns Against Lethal Vape Liquid

The Thai Food and Drug Administration recently sounded the alarm over Pot K, a vape liquid laced with ketamine, which can be fatal. The substance's surge in nightlife venues has prompted intense scrutiny due to its dangerous implications and severe legal consequences.

 

In a recent crackdown, police in Makkasan nabbed individuals peddling Pot K, following a warning by Dr Witit Srisuriyachayakul, Deputy Secretary General of the FDA. Ketamine, a Schedule 2 controlled substance in Thailand, is primarily an anaesthetic but is being illicitly used for its hallucinogenic properties. Misuse can lead to serious health issues such as seizures, brain hypoxia, and death, and can cause long-term dependence.

 

Selling or possessing Pot K without the necessary permits can land individuals hefty fines of up to 1.5 million baht or prison sentences reaching 15 years. The penalties reflect the Thai authorities' stern stance against drugs, especially those infiltrating social hotspots like nightclubs in Bangkok.

 

 

Ketamine misuse threatens public safety, as its unregulated distribution mainly occurs via online channels and nightclubs. Concurrently, agencies are convening to trace sources and cut the supply chain of these harmful substances.

 

To combat this menace, the public is urged to report any dealings of Pot K to the FDA using their hotline or social media channels. Notably, a foreign national was recently detained, highlighting the ongoing efforts to curb the illicit Pot K network.

 

Fast action and community vigilance look to play crucial roles in managing this emerging threat before it escalates further, assuring public health and safety remain paramount.

I bought one of those to carry around in Bangkok and puff on the street.

Not as good as my diggity dank flower that I typically burn in a Puffco glass bong.

Let me know if a handheld portable version is available in Thailand.
