TM 47 90-Day report rejected online

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

I submitted my 90-day TM 47 report for my retirement visa. It sent back a rejection notice saying that as a "first time"

user I have to come into the immigration office in person. I don't know why they rejected me, but I can only figure out

that I left and returned to Thailand in October (before renewing my visa in November).

Since I now have to go into immigration. can I send a friend or representative on my behalf?

Also, once I sort this out, can I use the online system gain (as I have done for years) for subsequent 90-day reports?

That is why they rejected you. It's a relatively new rule (I think from around Feb 2024).

Yes.

Your issue stems from trip abroad.

Unrelated: I have been bemoaning online reporting (CW) in numerous threads.

So last Nov 5 I did a 90 report in person.

Have not exited Thailand since.

My window (2 weeks prior to due date) opened Tuesday.

I made online report.

Fully expecting rejection.

I now received approval.

Geez if they can ever get online to work we could have a credible option.

Currently need in person after trip abroad is not workable.

I also use Bangkok Immigration (CW) and reported in person after I returned from abroad last year.  I asked the IO when reporting if I could do my next report and she said yes.

However, when I reported online 90 days the next time it was rejected so had to attend immigration again.  I inquired of the IO why my online report was rejected, she replied that it was not within the 14-7 day window.  I had in fact applied about 5 days before it was due and this had always been accepted in the past.

Apparently the rule in Bangkok is no longer "up until due date" but I won't know for sure until I apply online again in March.

That's correct.

For a while there I was posting in threads that online report window was 2 weeks prior up till due date.

The thing is they changed it back to 14-7 window which it previously was.

After you do next one in person your online will work for the report after that. Just keep in mind the 14-7.

I do it 14 days early.

I just had my online approved Wed.

Submitted Tues.

If it was rejected there is no way I was going to attend in person.

Just cop the fine at time of next annual extension.

I'd read several reports saying can't do online 7 days before due date, but that didn't match what they said in the TM47 application manual which was up to 15 days before.

It appears the TM47 manual has now been updated to match what people have been saying, from 15 days before due, but not within last 7 days it's due. Here's the manual wording that should apply to all of Thailand

Where can I find this manual.  The User's Guide on the immigration website still says 15 days.

That's the issue. Since the introduction of online 90 day reporting the time from for submitting the report was restricted to the period from 15 days to 7 days prior to the due date.

Then at some point, around two years ago or more maybe, they extended the time frame deadline till up to the due date itself.

And then once again at some point within the last year or so, they reverted back to the '15-7' window. Even though some info still appears on the web and in posters in various places showing online can be submitted 'up till the due date'.

Befuddling, yep. Best move, if you want to do it online, is to think of it as a '75 day report', i.e. submit it 15 days before the due date. Gives you time to 're-submit' and maybe catch an approval on a second try if you get rejected on the first one. Don't rely on email reminders, take charge of the time frames yourself. This is for CW in Bangkok.

If you were rejected online, and unable or prefer not to go in person, you can use our self-service in-person request system.

For 375–500 THB, we’ll handle your 90-day reporting on your behalf.

You’ll be able to track the process in real time, view a digital photo of the completed report once it’s done, and receive an EMS tracking link for the original document, which you can then place in your passport.
