Myanmar national dies after contacting high-voltage wires and falling from the third floor of a Bangkok office building. A 32-year-old Myanmar man lost his life on 25 January after being electrocuted while cleaning the exterior wall of a five-storey office building in Rama III Soi 11, Bang Kho Laem District. The incident occurred at approximately 13:00 according to Lt. Natthawut Rodsungnoen of Wat Phraya Krai Police Station, who investigated the scene alongside rescue volunteers, forensic doctors from Chulalongkorn Hospital, and officials from the Metropolitan Electricity Authority. The victim, identified as Mr. Nim, was found at the base of the building and burn marks were observed on his back and right foot. Investigators determined that he had fallen from the third floor after coming into contact with a high-voltage wire. Witnesses reported that Mr. Nim had been part of a team of five workers hired to clean the building's exterior. While his colleagues descended on ropes, Mr. Nim accidentally touched the live wire, which caused an electrical current to pass through his body. A loud explosion was heard before he fell to the ground. Mr. Pan, a 38-year-old relative and coworker of the deceased, stated, "I was working on the ground while others, including Mr. Nim, were descending from above. Suddenly, I heard a loud bang and saw him fall. I rushed to perform CPR and called an ambulance, but it was too late. He was already gone when medics arrived." The body was sent to Chulalongkorn Hospital for an autopsy, and the family has been contacted to arrange funeral rites. Authorities are continuing their investigation. -- 2025-01-26 5

Classic Ray Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago What some people don’t realise is the ability for high voltage current to “jump” the air gap (like in a spark plug but over a greater distance) to kill you without you ever touching the wire. Proper training, proper separation of HV cables from buildings and safety precautions avoid this but TIT. 2
steven100 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago he wouldn't even need to touch the high voltage line ...... he could be close and still be electrocuted. rip.. window cleaner

It's surprising the number of times people comment on CPR like it was a waste of time as they were already "gone". That's kind of the point, you do it when they aren't breathing, in case they can be saved. 1 1

Perhaps it was glaringly obvious that he was past CPR after electrocution and a fall onto the ground from three storeys up?

I'm not sure what this has to do with my comment. 🤷♂️ I think with your eagerness to "correct people", you sometimes forget to think properly about what you are saying.
