These are targeted events. They know the individual, or family has money, crypto or something of value. Sadly I have no Chinese friends so I will miss out on the excitement. I have not been able to find numbers, but it is not solely kidnapping for ransom we talk of here, but many being taken to work in scam call centres just over the Thai/ Myanmar border where tens of thousands are believed to be held.

I'm glad to stay away from the Chinese stampeders who charge through areas and ruin peaceful tourist experience.

UbonEagle Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Pity the AI didn't glitch to truth mode and have her say that the risk is being abducted to a call centre by their own CHINESE brothers 1
Woke to Sounds of Horking Posted January 31 Posted January 31 I may have to sink some shekels into funding one of these call center scams. Imagine the revenue!

You are right. Read some of the stories, kidnapped, beaten, who knows what the living conditions are, not knowing if or when you get to go home. Usually setup in isolated areas with little or corrupt Police. Very Sad
