Are you seriously making the wild claim that Twitter is not now far more free?

 'More' free to some.

To others, it's a cesspit.

Musk a peacemaker?       If there was an award for getting the taxpayers to make someone very rich Musk would be a shoo in.

  • You've got to be KIDDING!!!! 😁

Elon Musk this year, then Joe Rogan next year.  They were both instrumental in increasing freedom of speech and Trump getting re-elected.

Hijacking the megaphone, spouting sh**, then attacking anyone who disagrees... isn't free speech.

Not the point I made.

Hilarious that you can accuse someone making a wild claim when you just made the wildest and most ridiculous of all wild claims:

Musk literally spent billions to change Twitter from a left-wing propaganda hell-hole into a platform for freedom and openness.  He didn't have to do that and it's had an unmeasurably positive impact on the world."

How is that a wild claim?  It's literally what happened!

To the far-left, who hate freedom and democracy, yes, the fact that it is now open and fair is a negative for you/them.

Not sure what you're talking about.  I'm afraid you'll have to add a little more to your fantasy if you want others to try to understand it.

It was effectively what you were saying.  Another wild claim from you.  Dare I ask you to back it up with evidence???

You’ve missed the bit where Musk censors the accounts and comments of people who disagree with him.

No it was not ‘effectively’ what I was saying.

And no I don’t need to back up things you think I ‘effectively’ saying.

The Nobel Peace prize lost all credibility when they gave the award to Obama. To be fair to Obama, even he was embarrassed.

He only got it cos it was the only way the committee members could guarantee getting to meet him.

Both far right and far left have a history of suppressing freedom.

Before Musk, Twitter was repelling extremists.

Now, it invites extremist, incendiary content and misinformation. Led from the top.

Musk is promoting far right propaganda.

This is only fair if you're a far right sympathiser .

You say you're not sure what I'm talking about - but also suggest I'm creating a fantasy.

So you do know what I'm taking about.

It's a stupid award. Look at past winners. The EU won it once 😄

Musk is a great man. A pioneer of technology and free speech. If he wins he should refuse to collect it. It is not worthy of his name.

I've concluded this account is some sort of AI-generated comedy account. Its not a particularly original approach. You see this dead pan approach elsewhere, so hackneyed.

Do you perform sand dances as well? Cha cha.

As to whether Twitter/X is now free. Only selected features are free. Other bits you have to pay for.

Should someone tell the committe about that Pedo business?

If he is offered it, it should be a joint award with Bill Gates, to show what two men with billions to hand can do with that money.

It wasn’t all his money, he was backed by the Saudis.

Only an idiot would believe they put their money in to promote freedom of speech.

Unfortunately there’s no shortage of those.

Only an idiot would assume there were idiots thinking that right? After all the Saudi's were not the only backers and not the main ones either.

The deal was backed by his wealthy allies in Silicon Valley, many others including Sean Diddy, venture capitalists, Jack Dorsey, a huge list actually

Oh yea and the Saudis that you mentioned.

Elon Musk's nomination for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize is neither as surprising nor odd as some BMs seem to feel.  Every year the names of several hundred individuals and organizations are submitted to the five-member Norwegian Nobel Committee as candidates  for the Nobel Peace Prize.  In 2024, no less than 197 individuals and 89 organizations were registered as valid nominations.

Thousands of individuals all over the world can make nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize,  so it's no wonder some strange suggestions could show up.  I'd bet my 401K that some idiot, somewhere, has nominated Hamas and Hezbollah  for the Peace Prize.   Information about nominees and nominators is kept secret for 50 years and then only released on a very selective basis.  We know about Elon Musk's nomination because his nominator (Branko Grims) chose to make it public.

You can read more about the nomination and selection process on the official  Web site of the Nobel Peace Prize.

https://www.nobelprize.org/nomination/peace/

The criteria for nominators is broad and could include thousands, maybe tens of thousands, of people.   https://www.nobelpeaceprize.org/nobel-peace-prize/nomination/criteria-for-nominators

The Saudis put their money in because X is becoming the number 1 news source in the world.

It also allows them to promote their other investments such as The Ring Magazine and Riyadh Season Boxing events put on by Turki Alalshikh.

Smart move.
